Loyal Ma receives Alberta Officiating Award

 

Congratulations to long-time ABA member Loyal Ma, honoured last week by the Alberta Sport, Parks, Recreation and Wildlife Foundation with a 2013 Officiating Recognition Award. Loyal has been, over the past 30 years, instrumental in the development of Mountain Bike and BMX racing in Alberta in a variety of roles including commissaire, facilitator of coaching and commissaire courses, race organizer, and volunteer on the ABA Board and various committees. More recently, Loyal has been a key trainer of BMX Officials for the UCI. His officiating career culminated last year with an appointment as Chief Commissaire of BMX competitions at the London Olympics. Congratulations Loyal!
