Lethbridge Environment Week 2010
Calling all cyclists! The Environment Week Committee would like to formally invite you to participate in the 3rd Annual Bike & Barby to be held on Clean Air Day, Wednesday, June 2nd, during Environment Week. Please see the attached poster.
Meet in the parking lot behind City Hall at 5:30pm, with your helmet and water bottle. We will be holding a safety meeting at approximately 5:45pm and will be aiming to leave the back of City Hall for Henderson Lake by about 6:00pm. Please note that you must register (by calling 403-320-4996 or by filling out the form at http://www.discovergreen.ca/bikebbq.html) for this event and that helmets are required for the bike ride as we will be biking in the road. If you or your family member/friend etc. are not registered, there will not be enough hotdogs to feed everyone so please register if you plan to enjoy the barbeque. Please see the bike route. Keep in mind that for children this would be quite a bike ride (approximately 10 kms with a steep hill on Scenic Drive S just after Whoop Up Drive W merges with it) and children that are too young should not be biking in the road. At Henderson Lake registered participants will be treated to a locally produced bison hotdog and there will be displays with an environmental theme for all to enjoy. Please also bring a water bottle as drinks will not be provided, but there is a drinking water tap at the shelter where the bike ends for the barbeque.
I’ve also attached an Environment Week poster with some of the great events and programs happening in Lethbridge from May 30th to June 5th. These events, including the Bike & Barby, are also listed on the City of Lethbridge website at www.lethbridge.ca under Public Notices.
Hopefully the weather is nice for the Bike & Barby! J.
Happy Cycling and can’t wait to see you at the 3rd
Annual Bike & Barby!,
